This is the Fellow Stagg EKG electric kettle in matte black. I call it my hot water heater, and I use it mostly for tea.
In the video I walk around it: a narrow gooseneck spout, a lid with vents so steam can get out, and a sturdy handle with no wiggle. There are two switches on the back of the base, one for Fahrenheit or Celsius and one that either holds the temperature longer or lets it shut off automatically. The dial sets the exact temperature (I turn it down to 160), it goes up to 212 if you want to boil, and it heats up fairly quickly. The cord is about two feet.
Honest notes: if you change temperatures a lot, scrolling through them is slow. And because the spout is narrow, it's a slow pour when you're pouring a lot of water. The upside of that spout is a clean pour with no dribble.
My verdict: I highly recommend it. It gets each tea to the right temperature so you don't get that burnt taste, and it works for pour-over coffee too.
